I have been part of the SCV-CAMFT community for many years, and one of the things that keeps me coming back is the people. I have had the opportunity to learn from colleagues, build friendships, connect with other professionals, and be reminded that we don't have to do this work alone.
Many of us sit with LGBTQIA+ clients every week, and the deepest cultural humility doesn’t come from a slideshow — it comes from proximity, from having been a guest at someone’s table and truly listened — and this year our Cultural Field Guides program is made for exactly this moment
Cultural environments can normalize behaviors that closely resemble traits we associate with pathology. To understand why, we must look through the lens of collective survival.
On a Saturday morning in July (the 25th, to be exact!), more than a dozen SCV-CAMFT members gathered together at Crema Coffee shop in San Jose to connect, catch-up and enjoy our community!
