Personal Statement
My practice specializes in providing customized sport psychology services to athletes, parents and coaches which enhance competitive sport performance and quality of participation.
I am Board Certified in Biofeedback, have obtained Level II training in EMDR, Level II Sport Science Certification from the USTA and Sport Science Specialist Certification through the U.S.T.A. High Performance Competitive Player Development Program.
My practice covers general counseling practices, relationship, transition issues, anxiety, common phobias, communication, sexual identity issues, family issues etc.
The inter-relationship between the psychological and physiological process is dynamic and bi-directional. Emotion drives physiology, perception, confidence and energy levels. The goal of sport psychology programs is to empower the athlete to self-regulate his or her mental focus, psychophysiology and performance behavior. Sports Health Counseling offers the following programs and services:
*Biofeedback training, includes a psychophysiological stress profile.
*Consultation with youth athletes and parents to help them resolve pressures that may arise around competitive issues. A common presenting issue is overcoming performance anxiety.
*Sport Injury Recovery Management, many challenges confront an athlete after an injury and during the many phases of recovery.
* Support for Life Transitions, whether it's transitioning from middle school to high school athletics, high school to college, college to the pros, or transitioning out of competitive sports.
