Description

The benefits to be gained from this presentation include a realistic understanding of the statutory and regulatory powers that the BBS has in disciplining licenses and registrations, an understanding of the most common types of licensing board trouble that therapists get themselves into, and the psychological and emotional realization that the majority of such troubles can be avoided with a commitment to fundamental practices. In this 6-hour presentation, which is divided into two different 3-hour time periods, Attorney Dave Jensen, formerly of CAMFT, will review the statutory and regulatory powers that the BBS has to discipline your license or associate registration. Mr. Jensen will review the underlying laws and regulations and actual case examples to illutrate the concepts involved. By the end of the class, you will have a thorough understanding of what the BBS expects of licensees and registrants in terms of good conduct, and what to do to stay on the BBS' good side. ABOUT THE PRESENTER Mr. Jensen worked in-house for the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) for many years, where he assisted CAMFT’s members in understanding and complying with their legal and ethical requirements. In addition, to providing workshops for local chapters of CAMFT, he also conducts trainings for nonprofit agencies, government agencies, and universities.
